Origin: Cultivated in the Colombian Andes by small farmers from the department of Cundinamarca (Colombia)

Description: Small and round fruit that turns a bright orange color when ripe. This berry has a smooth and waxy surface. Its juicy pulp contains multiple edible seeds, with a soft texture, and has a sweet to semi-acid taste.

Nutritional Benefits: Antidiabetic, antitumoral, anticancer and antihepatotoxic (Liver health). Provides dietary fiber, phosphorous, iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, antioxidants (flavonoids) and phenolic compounds.

Applications: Suitable for eating fresh, in salads, natural juices, desserts, jams, chutneys and many other preparations.
